We recently moved both of my 90+ year old parents to Addington Place at College Harbor. And while this is one of the most stressful periods for the family, everyone has made the transition such a positive experience. From our initial meetings with John, who provided his undivided attention and expertise in meeting our needs, to Bev, who worked closely with us throughout the move process, we could not have been more satisfied. Since arriving at Addington both parents have needed assistance and medical attention which has all been handled professionally and expeditiously. Our sincere thanks go to their Nurse, Ashley, who has been an absolute angel working with the parents, keeping us informed, and providing first class care. We thank you all!! Please keep up the great work. ~ Kathy M
Addington Place at College Harbor is a wonderful assisted living facility for my mother. The staff is polite, friendly and always willing to be helpful. The common space is lovely, with an inviting foyer, ample library, gym, meeting rooms, and dining room. The beautician at the beauty parlor makes my mom look and feel even more beautiful than she already is. My mom - forever a gardener at heart - particularly likes to travel through the beautiful garden, viewing not just what's in bloom on any particular day but also checking out the activity at the outdoor pool and along the waterway. Finally, we appreciate the health care professionals (e.g., primary care, audiology, optometry...) that pass through Addington Place which helps limit the need to travel for her health care. Thank you Addington Place! ~ Audrone B
Following my knee replacement I recently spent nearly three weeks in the Addington Place Skilled Nursing Unit. Little did I expect such an engaging experience. Thanks to Rob, Ryan and Nyisha their intense PT/OT had me recovering quickly. Danny urged me to eat in the dining room where I made new friends. He is a joy to watch taking care of the residents. Daily activities helped chase away boredom. RN's, CNA's and Housekeeping staff including Suzette, Janice, AJ, Dee, Tshawn, Malika, Beverly, Alix, Patrick, Monica and others helped make my needs met. Addington is lucky to have them. My one bit of advice is to stay flexible and try to learn how the system works. It isn't always clear who does what or when. It's a big job taking care of the many varied needs. I came away grateful my surgeon recommended Skilled Nursing and going to Addington Place made all the difference. ~ Audrey J
In researching an Assisted Living community for my parents earlier this year, Addington Place was a true standout. The beautiful grounds, inviting lobby, proximity to Boca Ciega Bay, quality dining options and daily activities all provide a very enriching experience for residents and families alike. John, the Senior Living Advisor, was so much more than an Advisor! John's attention to our family's needs, connection with the residents and staff, communication and follow through ... plus his pure passion for what he does ... makes him more like Addington's Senior Living Ambassador! John was not only helpful, but proactive and compassionate in meeting my family's needs. ~ Laura O
From the very first phone call with John Leinbach, to the move-in experience, to meeting Bev Starke, and experiencing an outstanding level of medical care provided by Ashely and the rest of the care team, we have been delighted. The staff seem determined to make each resident, and their families, as content and confident as they could possibly be. My mother-in-law moved from one of the spacious apartments to a smaller one - but not until Bev escorted her - more than once - to available rooms so that she could choose the one she liked best. We have been wanting this for Kay for years and are so very pleased and comforted to know that she has the care she needs from people who care. ~ Eileen M
Addington is a wonderful place for my Mom to live. It's in a safe location, the grounds are absolutely beautiful and the facility is well maintained by the staff. Mom is happy and comfortable living there. There are plenty of activities for her to participate in and she has made many friends. The staff is very compassionate and attentive, really getting to know their residents and many times joining in the activities with the residents. John and Beverly have gone over and above to make Mom feel welcome. Since I live out state, it is comforting to know there are people there who care. I feel choosing Addington was the best decision we could have made. ~ K K
Addington Place allows families to thrive. Our mother (voluntarily) moved to this community 5 years ago -- while I worried she would feel lonely, she felt immediately at home. She often tells us, "We are a family here !" Last year my brother and his wife chose Addington Place as their retirement community to be near our mother - and because of the fun, family friendly events offered. Prior to and during the COVID quarantine the AP staff have been there to kindly, gently, and professionally guide the whole family in making informed and sensitive decisions in the best interest of all. Justin Mock, John Leinbach, Andreika Joseph, Vanesha in assisted living, the nursing/medical staff, Anthony in Skilled Nursing, Greta in Dining, and many, many others have made Addington Place at College Harbor a wonderful place for family. Thank you all! ~ Laura E
My parents chose to move to Addington because we had close friends who had lived there. They and their children were very pleased with their care and always spoke highly of the staff. After five months I can confirm their experience. John Leinbach and Ashley Acosta have both been especially helpful getting both of my parents settled in and attending to their various health needs. The staff is caring and the physical and occupation therapies are especially excellent. The menus are varied and meals are well prepared. We are especially grateful for the great care and concern they have taken for all residents during the recent trying times. ~ Gerald N
My mother was at Addington Place for over four years before she passed away. Many of the staff were caring and very good. I want to particularly single out John Leinbach, Asst. Director of Marketing, who was always there when I needed him, even when he was home on his days off. That’s dedication. My Mom went through a lot of difficult times (e.g., aftermath of having a fire in her room) and I could always count on John to assist me through those trying moments. I wish him the best and recommend his superiors recognize his value relative to future advancement. Thank you, John, for your caring & professional assistance. Sincerely, Mark Gumula. ~ Mark G
My Mom moved to Addingrton Pl. 7 years ago, she is now 91 and still in Independent Living. She has a great attitude. She loves it there. The staff has always been accommodating, polite, and professional, including during the virus lockdown. I’m thankful to them for taking care of my Mother. The location is great, on the water with dolphins, fish, birds, and a constant boat parade. Access to downtown and the beaches is a breeze.. There were many activities my Mom took advantage of before the virus such as nice restaurants every Tuesday, Mahaffee Theatre , Dali Museum, shopping, and all transportation is free. She also loves exercise class and the pool, we used to swim with her, can’t wait to do it again. The food is fine, I have eaten there many times. I loved the “Omelet Station “ mornings. Of course they have glitches, but they seem to work them out, and want to work them out. I would recommend Addington Place to anyone. ~ Bill H
It has been three months since my husband and I moved into Addington Place at College Harbor, our "living happily ever after" home. We looked at 4 other St. Petersburg retirement properties before moving here. Why did we choose Addington Place? 1. Safe location in a beautiful outdoor setting with places to walk. 2. Welcoming, friendly, comfortable, clean and attractive atmosphere. 3. No buy-in fee. 4. Windows in every apartment, which open, for cross-ventilation. We have noticed, since moving in, that the staff seems to REALLY care about the residents' well-being and are eager to help and answer questions. A variety of activities are offered every day, and transportation is provided for grocery & retail shopping, as well as luncheons "out" at highly acclaimed restaurants. We've made many friends here already, and we would definitely recommend Addington Place at College Harbor to others. Richard and Polly Jones ~ Polly J
Planning for acute rehab, assisted living, and long-term care after a family member has experienced an unexpected decline in health is very stressful. Addington Place has helped my family navigate through the uncertainty with grace and love. I have been very impressed with my father’s care. Addington’s rehab department and staff are truly amazing, they always take time to update family members, even on unannounced visits. The administration, physicians, and staff really care about their patients and this makes me feel confident that I made the right decision by choosing Addington Place for my father’s care. ~ Blair H
My wife and I moved into Addington Place about a year ago. It has been a great place to live. Before Covid 19 we had our meals in their beautiful dinning room. Splendid service of a three course meals. Since the virus they deliver our meals to our front door. The staff is very helpful and supportive. There is always someone on duty at the front desk. If you have a package delivered they call and you pick it up at your convenience. Activities before the virus were plentiful for both men and women. However, recently the size of the group participating has been limit to 10. A small group (8 or 10) from the 5th floor meet in the 5th floor common room at 4 PM each day for a glass of wine and some conversation. Our apartment 501 has an balcony that overlooks a channel leading from Boca Ciega Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. The view is fantastic. We strongly recommend this as a safe and comfortable place to live. Jim and Anne Dally ~ James D
After being widowed in 2018, I took up independent living at the Addington being a snowbird from Bozeman Montana in the winter time. During that time at the Addington, I enjoyed a very nice apartment. Good service from all the personnel from housekeeping to the front desk to Maintance to Administration. The food was good And if the menu was not to your liking, there was always an alternative Entrée or sandwich that would be offered. Activities were plentiful and the surrounding areas beautiful I highly recommend Addington @ College Harbour. ~ Michael P
I am so glad my Mom and Dad are settled here. Making the transition has been a bit stressful until we received the help from Ashley Acosta. She has gone above and beyond to make sure my parents are comfortable. She is the most caring and thoughtful person and added the right touches to make my parents feel welcome. John has also been wonderful he always greets us with the biggest smile and always asks if my parents are ok. If you or your loved one is ready to transition to an assisted living facility I highly recommend Addington Place!!! ~ Dianne A
Addington Place welcomed my parents to Independent Living five years ago. When the time came, the wonderful, caring staff helped them age them into Assisted Living. My dad spent his last years in Long-term Care, where he was treated with dignity and respect, while mom continued to enjoy her spacious apartment with a view. A series of falls has sadly necessitated a move to a Memory Care facility elsewhere. I would not hesitate to recommend Addington Place to those seeking a safe, comfortable home for aging loved ones. ~ Caron S
My father has been a resident here for two years, recently after a hospital stay it became necessary to move him to the assisted living phase. The staff in both the independent and assisted sides of the organization were patient, understanding and did any amazing job helping the whole family through a stressful time. Change is hard and their patience and experience did wonders for my father during this transition. We were very lucky especially because we do not live nearby and they stepped in and up to help fill that void! ~ Stacy S
Addington Place provided a home and care for my mom in assisted living for over 3 years and then over a year in long term care before her death. I highly recommend the skilled nursing staff for their great care and personal attention . They were very responsive to the resident and their family. No facility is perfect but this one I highly recommended based on my 4.5 year experience visiting my mom there almost daily. God bless those who care for seniors. ~ Claudia S
Moved my Dad here from Texas following a series of strokes. John, Beverly and Royce were extremely helpful. Every step from selecting a room and touring the facility to moving in and receiving personal competent care has been very easy. Staff is responsive, kind and helpful. The facility itself is spacious and accommodating, and the grounds are spectacular. Well managed place in a beautiful setting. Can't say enough about how this team made a very difficult transition much easier. ~ Sam H
Cannot say enough great things about Addington. Everyone there from the first person you meet to the residents are all so friendly and welcoming. You feel instantly at home and comfortable. All the staff is extremely caring and kind and the food is absolutely wonderful. This feels like your small town home community. It just feels like a warm home environment. I would highly recommend Addington to anyone looking for independent to nursing care assistance. ~ S B
My mother-in-law was a resident at Addington Place for 6 years. During that time my husband and I were extremely happy with the care that she was provided throughout her years there. She loved her beautiful apartment overlooking the water and watching the dolphins. The social environment and dining facilities were top notch. We have to give a special thanks to Beverly and John in the management office with always being there to help my mom with her living needs as her care changed over the years. Also, we can’t say enough about Buffy and Ashley, on the nursing staff. They were truly mom’s lifeline whenever she needed help. If we had concerns, they were always available to discuss and follow up for us. Mom passed away this past March. Prior to her passing, while at the hospital, her wish was to get back to Addington to spend her final days. Just being back in her “home” with all her friends near made her last days peaceful. Addington provided the comfort and care we should all be so lucky to get in the last chapters of life. Thank you Addington. ~ Marilyn C
My Mom recently moved into Addington Place… John and Beverly in Management, Ashley and Buffy from the Medical department, and the entire staff has been going above and beyond to make her feel welcome and to accommodate her specific needs. Everyone, including the residents, have been very, very friendly which helped Mom to feel “at home.” I highly recommend Addington Place as a fun and robust community for your aging loved ones!!! ~ Andrew D
I moved to Addington Place to be near my son and haven't been disappointed. The grounds are beautiful and the waterway that runs along one side is home to many lovely birds. The facility is very clean and the grounds are well maintained. The staff are caring and the food selection is good. There are many activities offered during the non-pandemic times. I can hardly wait to enjoy the exercise classes again as well as group outings. ~ joan d
This is a Beautiful community on the water and is easy to get to just off I-275. It is an active senior community with so many activities. It is close the the beaches, parks and other social activities. I would recommend Addington Place at College Harbor to seniors looking for an active senior living community. The administrative team is caring and compassionate. ~ Bernadette H
